Marion Technical College

Mission Statement: As the center for higher education, Marion Technical College will be the community’s first choice for learning. Our mission is to provide an enriched and personal educational experience for our community.

Overview: Marion Technical College was founded in 1970 with one priority: to improve employment opportunities for area residents through quality education at the local level. Classes began in 1971 with 187 students in four technical programs. Since then, more than 30,000 students have attended MTC, and around 2,500 have graduated with an associate degree.

Right now, over 2,100 students are enrolled in nearly 70 associate degree and certificate programs in Business, Information, Engineering, Nursing, Medical Sciences, Public Service, Radiography, and Physical Therapist Assisting technologies.  The average MTC student is 27 years old and works in the Marion area. And, 85 to 90 percent of MTC graduates find work in their fields of study each year. What’s more, the pass rate on certification/licensure examinations by Nursing, MLT, Radiography, and PTA graduates typically exceed the Ohio and national average.

Students, parents, and employers all benefit from our low tuition rates – and our flexibility. Students can arrange to study while they work. We also tailor courses to specific needs, and develop on site educational programs for employers and also for high schools under the Post-Secondary Enrollment Option program.  MTC is committed to serving the educational needs of Marion and the surrounding communities.

If you are looking for a career, want to grow in your current job, or get a better job, MTC is the place for you.
