OACC Leadership

The OACC is a regional council of governments organized under Chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code. The Agreement to Create a Regional Council of Governments, originally adopted on May 15, 1993, and the Association Bylaws serve as the foundational documents governing the work of the organization.

The Association focuses on the issues impacting Ohio’s 23 community and technical colleges, and through an open dialogue with trustees and presidents, adapts solutions to fit the social, educational and political landscape in the state.

OACC’s leading authority is the Governing Board, followed by the Executive Committee. Key advisory committees also provide leadership and guidance to the OACC, including the Presidents Committee and other affiliated councils. See below for more information on the governing bodies.

Governing Board

Governing Board

The OACC Governing Board is made up of one trustee designated by each member college board of trustees to serve as a delegate of the college, as well as the president of each college. Each college board of trustees may also designate a trustee to serve as an alternate member of the Board. The Governing Board meets twice a year, in the spring and fall, where members approve the budget and discuss other business as it relates to the OACC.

Executive Committee

Every two years the OACC Governing Board elects four trustees and four presidents to serve as officers of the Association’s Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is the second ranking governing authority within the Association.
